Passionate about diamonds and fine jewelry, David Sussman followed early on in the footsteps of his grandfather, a diamond dealer, who taught him all the subtleties of the trade.
By founding his first jewelry house 15 years ago, he gained the experience essential to creating exceptional pieces worthy of the Place Vendôme.
After traveling the world in search of the rarest and most precious diamonds, Enzo Cousin, devoted to diamonds and precious stones since childhood, settled in Paris and joined this first venture, where he acquired all the knowledge needed to design unique diamond jewelry, from the selection of stones to the choice of manufacturing workshops.
However, after several years spent creating high jewelry pieces in diamonds, the two passionate diamond experts became aware of the ecological and human impact of the jewelry industry.
Indeed, the mining of diamonds and precious metals (gold, platinum, etc.) consumes enormous amounts of water and fossil fuels, making it a particularly polluting industry, although it is strictly regulated and regularly monitored by non-governmental organizations on issues such as environmental protection and respect for human rights.
David and Enzo then decided to move toward a more sustainable and ethical business model, one that respects the planet and the people who inhabit it.
This is how they founded Maison Laveran Paris, which offers only lab-grown diamonds, also known as HPHT or CVD diamonds.
The Maison’s concept is simple: located in the heart of Paris’s 9th arrondissement, in the historic center of French high jewelry, its sole aim is to carry on the heritage and savoir-faire of French jewelry-making while combining it with technical and technological innovations that limit its environmental impact.
