At 30, cours de l'Intendance, in the Triangle d'Or, our Bordeaux showroom occupies one of the city's most familiar addresses: the shopping street that runs from the Grand Théâtre toward place Gambetta. It is here that we welcome, by appointment only, those looking for an engagement ring in Bordeaux who want to take the time to choose well.

An appointment lasts about an hour, one-on-one with a Laveran expert. You examine the diamonds under a loupe and compare the shapes — round, oval, cushion, pear, emerald cut, princess, marquise, heart — as well as the three qualities we offer: H/VS2, F/VS1 and D/VVS1. You try on settings in 18k yellow, white or rose gold and in 950 platinum, to judge on your own hand what no photo can convey: the delicacy of a band, the way the stone catches the light. We talk openly about budget and, if no design matches your idea exactly, about a custom creation.

The appointment comes with no obligation. If you are unable to come in person, the same guidance is offered by video call. To reserve, simply book an appointment: an expert will call you back to confirm the time slot.

Why Choose a Lab-Grown Diamond

A lab-grown diamond is in no way an imitation. It is pure carbon, crystallized just like a mined diamond, with the same hardness — 10 on the Mohs scale — and the same optical properties. Only its origin sets it apart, to the point that specialized laboratory equipment is needed to tell the difference. It is sometimes called a synthetic diamond: the term does refer to a genuine diamond, not a zircon or a rhinestone.

Choosing a lab-grown diamond in Bordeaux above all means being freer in your trade-offs: for the same size and quality, it costs significantly less than a mined diamond, which often lets you aim for a larger carat weight or a whiter color for the same budget, with no mining involved. • The Miroir d'eau, facing place de la Bourse: as the mist rises and gives way to the reflection, the 18th-century façades are mirrored beneath your feet.

• The Pont de pierre: its seventeen arches, commissioned under Napoleon I, are now closed to cars; from the middle of the bridge, the Garonne and its quays stretch out on either side.
